Project Description

The Microsurfacing Project will extend the life of Town roads by applying a top course of pavement onto existing roads to decrease road degradation and to improve skid resistance. This low impact pavement preservation process will help maintain our road conditions and extend their life by 6 to 9 years. This project will be completed on Easement Road, Beech Street, Driftwood Drive and Sycamore Drive. This work is anticipated to begin in mid-late July. There will be Traffic control officers on site to keep traffic flowing, expect delays if traveling in the area.

Project Updates

July 22, 2025

The anticipated schedule for the microsurfacing project has been changed to Monday, July 28, and Tuesday, July 29. During these days please plan to avoid parking on the road. Work dates are tentative and subject to change based on weather and scheduling.

July 11, 2025

The Town's Contractor, Indus, will be microsurface paving Easement Road, Sycamore Drive, Driftwood Drive, and Beech Street.

Roadway Closure/Detour Information

Beech Street and the abutting roads will be closed during work hours. Traffic will be detoured along Coolidge Street, Whipple Road, and Shawsheen Street.  Detour signs will be set up along the roads as needed along with Traffic Control Officers. Expect delays if you’re traveling in the area.  See Beech Street Detour Plan located in the Project Documents section of this page.

Anticipated Construction Dates

Construction is expected to take place on Monday, July 28, 2025 and continued on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Work dates are tentative and subject to change based on weather and scheduling.

Typical Work Hours

Monday to Friday from 7:00AM to 3:30PM, excluding holidays.
