Project Description

The goal of this project is to provide drainage improvements on Van Buren Road near Martson Street.

Project Updates

July 28, 2025

The work on Van Buren Road, Marston Street, and Chapman Road is completed for this calendar year.  In 2026 (after going through a winter freeze/thaw cycle), the contractor will return to permanently restore the paved trenches

July 9, 2025

The project is nearing completion.  There have been minor delays due to unforeseen subsurface conditions such as ledge that had to be removed.  The contract completion date is July 17, 2025, and the project is on target for that. 

May 27, 2025

There will be underground drainpipe installation on Van Buren Road, Chapman Road, and Marston Street coming soon. 

Weather permitting, Chapman Road will be closed to through traffic at Marston Street on May 29, 2025, and May 30, 2025. Detour signs and police details will be onsite. 

After public school gets out on June 17, 2025, work will resume on Marston Street and Van Buren Road. Marston Street will be closed to through traffic from Van Buren Road to Chapman Road on most days while the project is under construction. Van Buren Road will not be closed. Detour signs and police details will be onsite.

Project is out to bid with a bid opening date of March 27, 2025.

The project is currently in design.

Roadway Closure/Detour Information

5/29 and 5/30 - Chapman Road will be closed to through traffic at Marston Street. Detour signs and police details will be onsite.

6/17 - After public school gets out, work will resume on Marston and Van Buren. Marston St will be closed to through traffic from Van Buren to Chapman Road on most days while the project is under construction. Van Buren will not be closed. Detour signs and police details will be onsite.

Monday to Friday from 7:00AM to 3:30PM, excluding holidays.
