The Conservation Commission is responsible for administering the Massachusetts Wetland Protection Act and the
Tewksbury Wetlands Protection Bylaw. They are also responsible for the protection and management of Tewksbury’s Conservation Land and Open Space. The Commission’s goal is to protect wetland resource areas and their buffer zones, which contribute to the protection of public, private, and groundwater supply, flood control, pollution prevention, storm damage prevention, and protection of wildlife and their habitats.
