Town Hosts Public Forum on Open Space and Recreation Plan Proposed Goals, Action Items March 24
Please join the Town of Tewksbury on Tuesday, March 24, 6:00 – 7:30 pm, at the Tewksbury Recreation Center, 286 Livingston Street, for a session which focuses on reviewing draft goals for open space, recreation, and natural areas to gather input for the Town of Tewksbury Open Space and Recreation Plan Update for 2026-2036.
At the forum, the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG) planning team will share draft goals, talk about how the feedback in prior sessions helped to shape these proposed action items, and find out what feels right, what is missing, and what could be clearer. The goal for this session is to refine the action items before they are finalized and incorporated into the plan update. Participants can provide feedback on various areas of concern, help develop infrastructure and program goals, and create a vision for equitable recreation in Tewksbury.
The Town of Tewksbury Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) for 2026-2036 aims to compliment and build upon the previous Tewksbury OSRP from 2019. It serves as a framework for considering land acquisitions, recreational programming improvements, Community Preservation Act (CPA) fund expenditures, and other actions the Town and its partners can undertake to improve open space and recreation resources.
The project is supported by a NMCOG District Local Technical Assistance grant funded by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC).
This event is open to all. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is encouraged but not required: engage.nmcog.org/tewksburyosrp
